Walk With Me is a refreshing
and recommended devotional journal through the Psalms guided by the
perspectives of a seasoned hand and a new one. Their joy at exploring Scripture
together is shown in their writing as they live out Psalm 78 – “…
fathers (are) to teach their children, that the next generation might know the
(law), the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children so
that they should set their hope in God.”

As
believers, we will sometimes enter seasons in life when faithfully reading and
meditating on God’s word proves to be a challenge. Sadly, as a result, we grow
weak in our faith. That’s why a devotional roadmap like this book is such
a helpful tool. In this volume, the authors function as trusted guides who lead
the reader on a soul-nourishing trek through the Psalms in 30 days. With
engaging comments and thoughtful journaling questions that provoke the heart,
these pages beckon us to “open our eyes” so that we might “behold wonderful
things” out of God’s word. For those struggling in their quiet time, who long
to experience fresh glimpses of the glory of God, Walk with Me is
a journey worth taking.

Desiring God
Are Christians really convinced that meditating
on the Word of God is like being a tree planted by streams of water? Dr Gene
Baillie is a man who loves God’s word, who reads it, and who lives by it. There
are few people more equipped to write a book about the Bible. And yet what Gene
has produced in this book is more helpful than a commentary on the Psalms. He
has written a book which encourages and guides us to read God’s Word ourselves.
This book invites us all, whether young or old, whether we’ve travelled through
the Bible many times, or whether we’re embarking on our first journey, to delve
in and taste that it is good. It is a pleasure to endorse this book, because it
is a book that will get you reading the best book!

Dr Baillie and his grandson Sam
have provided excellent encouragement to study the Psalms. The biggest
contribution, in my opinion, is that it gives people a path to walk on to read
and study this portion of the Bible. So many people are paralyzed by the
Bible’s bigness. They don’t know where to start or how to maximize their
reading. This book gives them a place to start and a plan to follow.

Approaching the Psalms with
a thoughtful methodology to explore the riches of these passages can
be a weighty and overwhelming task. Here, in Walk With Me, Gene
Baillie and his grandson Sam Woodward break down these walls between effective
and devoted study, outlining an incredibly approachable study into this book of
biblical wisdom literature. As they bridge the gap between generations, they
provide diversity in readings and insight and soundness of thought and study as
they approach the Psalms in a holistic scope.

Dad, I love this journaling book on the Psalms which also has my
nephew Sam’s notes. Your comments remind me of the Godly heritage you and mom
have passed on, as we all continue to leave a legacy of the importance of God’s
Word for generations to come. I love how this way of reading the Psalms allows
God to often place a connected theme in my mind and heart, often related to the
burdens and attitude I bring with me as I study, pray, and apply His Word.
